Big City Land

About the Art

"Big City Land" is a generative art project. The algorithm ran offline for a limited set of mints. Each piece in this collection has up to twenty different regular sized buildings and ten tall buildings for each piece. In most cases, however, only a subset of the buildings are rendered. There are ten possible color combinations. Three mints per color were created and three more mints with a random mix of colors. The algorithm has four different results for the sizing of the buildings. Most buildings will have a scale factor of one and three other multiples of 1.5, 0.75 and 0.5. The output also orientates each piece in different ways. Each building could be flipped vertically or horizontally. Most pieces will be orientated the correct way, but others will have a new orientation. Each piece also has a generated background. The background sets a solid background color then adds a randomly created set of panels.
